Uniting art collectors and enthusiasts, Art Toronto offers its visitors a program of lectures and panel discussions from prominent art world figures, curated projects, an extensive VIP Program and top-tier cultural offerings. From thought-provoking paintings to photography and some unusual installations, there is a lot of interesting modern art to see at the fair.

That’s the beauty in public art, and why we decided to make it an important and celebrated part of this year’s fair,” said Mia Nielsen, Director of Art Toronto. This year, some of the country’s most talented artists have contributed to our public art showcases and we’re certain guests will find them a welcome and relevant addition to Art Toronto.”

To the great joy of all lovers of Portugal, this year’s fair is showcasing the esteemed curatorial practice of João Ribas, Art Toronto’s FOCUS: Portugal curator and some interesting artworks by Portuguese artists. And in addition to this news, there is also another highlight of Art Toronto 2019 which is the stimulating SOLO Salon Art Talks, where a selection of Art Toronto SOLO artists will discuss their work through the lens of shared themes. On Saturday, October 26 at 5 pm, Rebecca Carbin will engage the audience with “Subversive Aesthetics: The Role of Beauty in Art,” a conversation of aesthetic value between the artists whose work challenge conventional notions of figuration, décor, and the everyday. On Sunday, October 27 at 5 pm, Crystal Mowry will lead an ever-relevant discussion, “Here, Now: What it Means to be a Canadian Artist in 2019,” where the impact of place in artistic practice will be front and centre.

With a series of lectures and panel discussions from prominent art world figures, a Canadian Masterworks tour by Andrew Kear (Head of Collections, Exhibitions, and Programs at Museum London), and daily Canadian Art Editors Tours, Art Toronto is a must-see fair which will be interesting not only to art enthusiasts but also to everyone who has any interest in modern culture and arts.
