TechCrunch Sessions: Crypto

TechCrunch Crypto 2022

Last week, TechCrunch’s Crypto 2022, presented by Hedera, took over Miami in order to present a solid list of the industry leaders who shared their views and opinions on the future of the crypto industry, the FTX scandal, NFTs, and much more.

Starting with a video call from Binance’s CZ who couldn’t attend the event in person, the conversation revolved around the current market situation, Binance’s role in it, regulations, and business transparency. After that, we saw on stage a lot of Web3 entrepreneurs, including the co-founder of Tezos Kathleen Breitman, CEO of Ledger Pascal Gauthier, co-founder of Lolli Alex Adelman, CEO of OpenSea Devin Finzer, CEO of Phantom Brendon Millman, president of Ava Labs John Wu, CEO of Alchemy Nikil Viswanathan, and many others.

The conversations went from how to bring DeFi to the masses and keep the Web3 companies funded to the legal aspect of crypto and the importance of security in this space. As the crypto winter is still in full swing, most of the projects have to adapt to the new conditions, develop new strategies and hire the right people who will bring real value to the team. And on top of that, regulators globally continue to watch the young industry with laser focus.

However, despite all the uncertainty, there is still a lot of hope and enthusiasm around crypto and Web3 in general. As Devin Finzer, Co-founder & CEO of OpenSea mentioned, the industry is seeing an “explosion in innovation.” There are a lot of opportunities for NFTs, solid crypto projects, innovators, and for people who really believe in what they are doing. So we’ll see where the next year takes us.
