Bahamas Paradise at Baha Mar Resort

If you’ve ever travelled to Bahamas before, you’ll know it’s a paradise on earth. Crystal clear waters, nice beaches, friendly Bahamians, conch salad, and, of course, the new Baha Mar Resort. Nobody on the island knows who owns it – due to legal proceedings – but it is open and welcomes new guests.

This  luxurious 5 star resort in Nassau, Bahamas, is a true masterpiece and sanctuary for the senses. It consists of three major hotel brands: Grand Hyatt, SLS Hotels and Rosewood Hotels & Resorts. Rich in amenities and experiences, it has the Caribbean’s largest casino, Rosewood and Espa Spas, an 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course and Golf Club, more than 40 high-end restaurants and lounges, 11 swimming pools, tennis courts, the finest fashion retailers, and complimentary water sports equipment, such as kayaks, paddleboards and sailboats. Impressive, isn’t it? This is what $4.2 billion looks like.

The hotel has just recently opened for the public, yet, the official opening will be in October this year. Thus, some of the restaurants were still closed during our recent visit in August. But those ones that were open, did not disappoint. From scrambled eggs fresh smoothies at 3 Tides Restaurant to lobsters and oysters in the evening. The Swimming Pig Restaurant tends to be a hot spot, as it gets packed every night. Stix is great if you are feeling like some Chinese noodles. And like in any modern place, there is a Starbucks in the corner. Breathtaking ocean and island views await you on the beach where you can enjoy a famous Bahama Mama cocktail. Though, since the hotel does not offer All Inclusive option (at least for now), all food and drinks are extra.

Soaking in the sun by the pool with a Captain Colada cocktails is definitely not a bad idea. Beautifully-appointed rooms, helpful staff, great service, perfect cleanness of the whole resort, no crowds and no screaming kids made Baha Mar much more attractive than Atlantis Resort, located at the Paradise Island. The only thing it gave in to Atlantis was nightlife. In the evenings there was pretty much nothing to do except for casinos and a couple of bars. There was no clubs, no entertainment. The good news is that SLS is opening soon – it will definitely bring more fun vibe to this place.

Some people come to Bahamas for relaxation, but some – for Swimming Pigs. This excursion is offered by the hotel, though you need to book it in advance in order to save a spot. There are only two ways to get there: by boat and by plane. Plane is faster and you can see a mesmerizing picture of the islands from above. Though with the boat you will have a chance to travel to Iguanas Island and some others offered by your captain.

The bottom line is that Baha Mar Resort is truly amazing, and it will be even better when it is fully open and functional. Combining breathtaking nature with a opulence and luxury, the results are absolutely blissful. For someone looking for a next level vacation and escape from the city, this is a perfect place.
