Like eating ice cream on your newly painted deck and trips to the beach, colours are one of the many joys of summer. Everything is brighter and I don’t just mean the sun reflecting off of the beautiful flowers that have just arrived in your garden. Fashion becomes a little more sunny as well. This past fashion week, we were introduced to a variety of colours that would take over the Spring/Summer season. Whether they are worn completely monochromatic or mixed and matched, here are the colours ruling this summer.
This summer, yellow is brighter than ever. The vibrant hue has been seen bright and patterned at Kate Spade while Jason Wu has taken a more retro 80s approach to the happy colour.
All white has always been a summer staple and this season, the trendy colour sees no signs of being eliminated from summer trends.
Orange You Glad I Said Orange?
Like yellow, orange is super vibrant hue that took the Spring/summer ‘17 runways by storm. Whether on the figure-hugging dresses of Givenchy or the thigh-high knife boots of Balenciaga, orange has proven to be a healthy colour option loaded with loads of vitamin chic.
Hot for Hot Pink
Millennial pink may be all the current rage, but hot pink also made a major case on the runways. Going soft and hyperfeminine with pink is always chic but this summer one up the sun with a warm and super hot pink!
