June Croken, a “hair architect” who cuts in the heart of the fashion district in Toronto, is an amazing stylist. She brings graphic design, as well as a warmth and friendliness, to hair styling. The service customers receive in her private studio on Queen Street W. is unparalleled; from the moment you walk in, you are treated like a star. Unlike other hairdressers who cut hair based on, simply, whatever the client wants, June works with her clients to ensure a haircut that will be balanced, season-appropriate, and that will last. Clients will delight in the homey yet quirky look and feel of June’s salon, and will walk away knowing how to care for their hair type, how to style their hair, and what to ask for the next time they get their hair cut. June’s excellent service and expertise make hers a unique and sensational hair experience.

The Blowdry Lounge

My experience at the Bay location of Blowdry Lounge was amazing. My hair was done by owner Beni Sicilia, who is passionate about the art of blowdry and it’s transformative effects. I got the signature blowout, which usually runs from $35 to $45 depending on length and texture. It began with a deep shampoo that included a black caviar hair treatment from Israel that smelled good and felt great. My hair was then skillfully dried in sections with the use of large natural hair brushes, and styled afterwards for a glamorous and voluminous look. Beni’s motto is “it’s all about the blowdry,” and he certainly proved it as I left the salon looking and feeling fabulous.
